Proper care is essential to ensure that your crystals maintain their beauty and metaphysical properties. By understanding your gemstones, cleaning and storing them correctly, and regularly clearing and re-energising them, you can enjoy your crystal jewellery for years to come.  The energy and beauty of your crystal jewellery will reflect the love and care you invest in it.

Using Your Crystal Jewellery

To ensure prolonged use of your new crystal jewellery it is recommended to avoid the following:

  1. Wearing in the shower, pool or beach

  2. Not to wash dishes with it

  3. Wearing it to bed.

  4. Cleaning your crystal jewellery in water as it will cause the decorative beading to deteriorate sooner.

Clearing & Re-Energising Your Crystals

The most important aspect of your crystal jewellery is to clear and re-energise them. Crystals are alive, they have a spirit.  They get depleted when they are worked to either absorb or amplify in support our well being.  After each time you wear your crystal jewellery, it is best practice to clear & re-energise them overnight ready for another use.  Steps to clear & re-energise them are:

Cleansing & Re-Energising: Crystals absorb negative energy and so they require clearing. You can use methods such as smudging with sage or Palo Santo.  You can also use sound vibrations from singing bowls or bells. Placing them under full moon, sunlight or bury them are very effective methods of re-energising them.

Selenite will clear & re-energise (charge) your crystal jewellery.  Purchasing a selenite charging plate is very effective.

Cleaning Your Crystal Jewellery

To maintain the sparkle and vibrancy of your crystal jewellery, regular cleaning is necessary. Here's how to do it:

Soft Polishing Cloth: A lint-free cloth can be used for a gentle wipe-down. Microfibre cloths are ideal for this purpose as they won't scratch the surface of the crystal.  Use a Silver polishing cloth to cleanse the silver components to keep them shiny and remove any tarnish build up.

Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Do not use harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, or ultrasonic cleaners, as they can damage the crystals and their settings. Additionally, keep your crystal jewellery away from perfumes, lotions, and hairspray, as these substances can tarnish the metal settings and dull the stones.

Storing Your Crystal Jewellery

Proper storage helps to protect your crystal jewellery from scratches and damage. The following guideline will support this:

Keep It Separated: Store your crystal jewellery separately to prevent scratching and chipping. You can use small individual bags or jewellery boxes with fabric-lined compartments to keep them safe.

Avoid Direct Sunlight: Extended exposure to direct sunlight can cause the colours of some crystals to fade or change (like citrine). If stored out in the open, the silver pieces will start to build up tarnish. You can store your jewellery in a cool, dark place to maintain their vibrancy.

Repairs and Maintenance
